Shamanism is an ancient and powerful spiritual practice utilized throughout history and still today to restore spiritual and physical health and obtain self-knowledge. The Shamanic Journey has been called one of the “most remarkable visionary methods used by humankind to explore the hidden universe otherwise known mainly through myth and dream”.   This will be an experiential workshopbased upon the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (www.Shamanism.org)Core Shamanism” approach (those aspects of Shamanism that were common cross-culturally, and  central to all Shamanic practice). You will learn methods for journeying to discover, and study with your own individual spiritual teachers in non-ordinary reality, a classic step in shamanic practice. We will discuss shamanic healing methods, and application to your everyday life, including working with Spirits of Nature, healing self, healing the land, etc.

Treat yourself to a relaxing and healing day of retreat!

Join us for a relaxing, rejuvenating session of guided visualization, drumming, and more!

The many demands of workplace, family and society can deplete us, while proper attention to our selves can help us maintain balance and vitality, and a sense of calm.

This experiential workshop is focused on coming home to our True Self –  living in synchrony with our “soul’s purpose”. The “True Self” is that place from which we truly can be in harmony with who we are, what gives us joy and meaning. From that place of centeredness, we recover, remember, and learn how to stay in balance, full of energy, with joy and passion for living!  Will include guided visualization, mind/body exercises, movement, & ‘frame’ drumming!

Bring a journal and pen, snacks, and a frame drum if you have one. Please wear comfortable clothing, warm socks, and bring a bandanna or eye cover.  Since often people prefer to so some of the visualization exercises while lying on the floor, fully relaxed, you may want to bring a mat to lie on and a blanket to cover up with.

February 2008

5th Annual
Shamanism Intermediate Apprenticeship Program-2008
“Journey of the Open Heart”

Starts  FEBRUARY 23rd! *** note CHANGE IN DATE!!

with KATE DURDA, MA --  in Lansing area

 2008 Dates:  SATURDAYS Feb 23,  March 8,  March 29, April 26th, May 17

Time: 11am – 5:00pm   COST $350 ( 5 days)

Pre-requisite: Introductory Shamanism Training (contact me for information on how to get this training if you haven't yet. We can set something up!) or experience with Shamanic Journey from Spirit Weavers or other similar teachings.

If you are seeking to improve your life, strengthen your spirituality, and be the person you were meant to be in this life time, this is a good program for you!  If you are serious about developing a solid foundation in Shamanism, this work will help you truly gain the power to be a spiritual force for good in your own life, and for the world.  Power is the ability to use energy, and a spiritually adept person is able to manifest change for their own and others’ highest good.  This program has been positively life altering to past participants.

This is the program for you if you are serious about developing a solid foundation in Shamanism. You will receive training, and through experiential work will develop a powerful personal spiritual practice. We believe that it is important to take things one step at a time, and really learn about Shamanism, deepen your spiritual practice, and find your true selves before moving on to learning advanced healing methods.

Please note that Spirit Weavers offers a comprehensive training program of advanced workshops, including Advanced Shamanic Healing Methods Training (offered again in Oct 2008) for your further study.

Shamanism is a Path of Healing. Shamanism training does not “make you’ a shaman. Only Spirit directs that.  However, through Shamanic practice, we ‘re-member’ who we really are. We remember, therefore, our true soul’s purpose.  Through this process deepening our understanding and self-knowledge, we can regain intimate connection with our gifts, innate abilities, passion for life, our purpose, and we learn to live/work/create from a balanced, powerful, and deep place of love, personal power, and connection. *** This is “the Journey of the Open Heart  ***

This program will provide a safe & supportive community for your work. During our on-going training, the same group will meet for five full days (usually once a month).  In this program, I will guide you in deepening your shamanic practice and experiences, allow your natural abilities to be revealed and strengthened, and will introduce a lot of experiences including, but NOT limited to:
Various  methods of journeying
shamanic healing: of self, and for others, including healing spirits of place,
divination methods
working with nature spirits
shamanic practices from other shamanic cultures
use of power objects such as medicine bags, rocks and crystals, masks, amulets,
use of ceremony, ritual, prayer, song, movement, meditation,
dream work, journaling, etc.

Spirituality is about who you are becoming, so the time you spend on your own personal work is very valuable.  Each Saturday will include some lecture, lots of experiential work, individually/with partner/ in group. There will be ceremony, dance or song, and outdoor work at times.  Also, I will support focused time for individual spiritual quests and exploration.  Our final session is usually held at my home, from 1-8pm, instead of the You will receive a thorough and full foundation in shamanism in this training, and will be well –prepared to advance in training if desired.

Medicine for the Earth
with Kate Durda in  TRENTON, MI
October 20-21, 2007
$130-150 (sliding scale-more if you can, less if you can't) if registered by October 17.
$150 late registration at door, if room
** If you have taken MFE before with me or other FSS folks, repeat is only $50

This experiential  training is based on the information in Medicine for the Earth . We experience  how to transform personal and environmental pollution by learning how to transmute negative beliefs, attitudes, and energy which is generated by emotions.  Transmutation works on the principal "As within, so without. As above, so below." Using a specific spiritual methodology, we will work together to restore harmony and balance in our exterior environment by creating positive change within ourselves.
During this experiential training, we will use a powerful combination of guided meditation, shamanic journey work and ceremony, our work will focus on learning to  transform physical,  emotional and mental toxins that negatively affect our health and the health of Mother Earth.
The process continues with learning how to work in cooperation with helping spirits and the spirits of the land as well as getting in touch with our own internal divine nature to create healing and transmutation. Other key elements and spiritual practices will also be explored which can be easily incorporated into daily life. These methods are necessary and helpful for transforming and transmuting environmental and personal toxins.
In addition to shamanic journeying, meditation, toning , singing and movement  will be utilized to help change states of consciousness and raise awareness. The work done as a group in collaboration with community and the spirits is truly a life transforming experience. FIRE CEREMONY Saturday ; Transfiguration Healng Ceremony Sunday.
Kate has worked with Sandra extensively and hase completed her MFE Teacher Training to present this  work.   For info about Sandy Ingerman and/or Medicine for the Earth, see www.shamanicvisions.com/ingerman.html and http://www.medicinefortheearth.com

“ The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people
when they realize their relationship , their oneness, with the universe and all its power,
…it is within each of us”.

Black Elk  (Oglala Sioux elder and Medicine Man)

The Peace & Healing group was implemented to weave a solid spiritual approach into the peace movement.
When asked if she would join a "anti-war" march, Mother Teresa declined. She added that she would join in a "peace march".  The Peace & Healing group aims to provide a positive action group to explore and promote peace, social justice, personal and community healing, and healthy living. Medicine for the Earth:
Restoring Health to Self and Environment
with Kate Durda, M.A.
May 26-27,2007 in Chatham, Ontario, Canada
Cost: $95 Canadian if paid by May 18th; $115 if paid later, or at door, if room. Space is limited. Please register early to ensure a place in the training.
(see also the accompanying May 25th 2 hr Intro to journeying above, for wkshop participants only)

This weekend experiential  training is based on the information in Medicine for the Earth .
Kate & Stephanie have worked with Sandra extensively and have completed her MFE Teacher Training to present this  work.   For info about Sandy Ingerman and/or Medicine for the Earth, see www.shamanicvisions.com/ingerman.html and http://www.medicinefortheearth.com
It is recommended  that you read Sandra Ingerman's  Medicine for the Earth: How to Transform Personal and Environmental Toxins.

By remembering and healing our ‘selves’, we become part of the larger process of remembering and healing each other, and the environments around us.   “As within, so without".  Shamanism is a spiritual  practice of restoring and maintaining balance, harmony, connection and love…Shamanism is a Path of Healing.

This program will provide a safe and supportive community for your work. During our on-going training, the same group will meet one Saturday a month for 5 months , and will deepen shamanic journeying skills and other shamanic practices.

In this program, I will guide you in deepening your shamanic practice and experiences,  and will introduce a lot of experiences including, but NOT limited to:
        Various methods of journeying
shamanic healing - of self and for others, including healing spirits of place
        divination methods
        working with nature spirits
shamanic practices from other shamanic cultures
use of power objects such as rocks and crystals, masks, amulets,
use of ceremony, ritual, prayer, song, movement, meditation,
        dream work, journaling, etc.

Each Saturday will include some lecture, lots of experiential work, individually/with partner/ in group. There will be ceremony, dance or song,  and outdoor work at times.  Also, I will support focused time for individual spiritual quests and exploration. Spirituality is about who you are becoming, so the time you spend on your own personal work is very valuable. In addition, there will be group discussions and time for question/answer.
