Retailers, trend forecasters and marketers, intellectual property attorneys and designers, along with experts in branding, packaging, smart home and other crucial business topics, are invited to submit proposals for presentations in the <em>Inspiration Theater<\/em> and the <em>Inventors Revue<\/em> at the 2024 Show. Deadline for submissions is Nov. 22.<\/p>\n<p>The Inspired Home Show will be held March 17-19 at Chicago\u2019s McCormick Place Complex. Along with the more than 1,600 exhibitors, the Show features world-class industry education to help attendees grow their businesses. Speakers for the Inspiration Theater and Inventors Revue come from within and outside of the housewares industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Inspired Home Show 2024 will be an important connection of home + housewares suppliers, retailers, service providers and industry affiliates for product discovery and strategic planning,\u201d said Peter Giannetti, director, editorial, content and education for IHA. \u201cThe Show has long been a leading platform for executive-level industry education across a wide scope of topics. The 2024 Show education program promises to be one of the most valuable ever with its focus on expert insights that can be put into action for success in a changing marketplace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 Show will mark the debut of the <em>Inspiration Theater<\/em>, the renamed industry education program formerly known as the Innovation Theater. The new name reflects the spirit of insight, inventiveness and discovery empowered by The Inspired Home Show. The <em>Inspiration Theater<\/em> will relocate to Room S101b in the McCormick Place South Building adjacent the Keynote Ballroom S102 to form a convenient industry education and inspiration hub near the Show registration area. <em>Inspiration Theater<\/em> presentations will offer executive-level insights across a wide scope of themes, including trends in consumer behavior and purchasing; product design; retail merchandising; e-commerce and leading-edge digital technology; sustainability and social responsibility; intellectual property protection; international sales development; and more.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Inventors Revue<\/em> features topics of interest to makers and inventors, including developing a great idea; how to bring product to market\/marketing distribution; patent and trademark education; fulfillment housing; the importance of packaging; presenting to retailers; thinking outside the box; marketing through social media; branding; product development; and trends and colors. Sessions are scheduled throughout the Show\u2019s three days. The industry has a strong desire to return to in-person events, and we are committed to making that a reality in Chicago this March in a safe and productive manner.\r\n\r\nAs you may have seen from our previous communications, we are working with Epistemix, a data science company that specializes in infectious disease prevention. Epistemix provides consultation to health organizations, municipalities and schools as well as to trade shows and events.\r\n\r\n\r\nIHA received the first data set from Epistemix in October and an update in November that predicted the recent spike in cases. Viral outbreaks are seasonal, and with the colder weather hitting much of the U.S., an increase in cases was expected. Important to note, Epistemix continues to forecast that cases in the first quarter of 2022 will drop off significantly from where we are at today, with early March numbers being much more favorable. It is this data that drives our decision-making process and allows us to continue to feel very positive about our ability to have a safe and productive Show in March.\r\n\r\nThe IHA Executive Committee and the full Board of Directors meet on a regular basis with the next slate of formal meetings taking place in mid-January. IHA will receive another update from Epistemix immediately before the meetings so that we are able to make planning decisions using the best and most reliable data available. During these meetings, the IHA Board will determine mitigation policies that may be implemented at the Show, which could include vaccine mandates, testing and face masks, or a combination thereof. Once decisions have been made, IHA will provide full details to the industry and will continue with further planning. We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from both the supplier and retail communities \u2013 both of which have communicated that the Show is a lynchpin in their sales and marketing strategy that has been sorely missed for the last two years and needs to return as soon as possible.\r\n \r\nPlease rest assured that IHA is putting the health and safety of our industry first and foremost while also recognizing that there are real opportunities that are best met during an in-person event, including new product discovery, supplier diversification and overall relationship building.\r\n\r\n\r\nI look forward to providing additional updates in the New Year.
